As appears the tradition, we were shuttled to the historical Hotel Del Coronado first and the tour gave some amazing facts along the way. The size of the hotel alone is worth seeing, at over 130 years old it's bigger than most new properties anyone would ever build. Really cool.
The landscaping and gardens around the property were impeccable.
Coronado is also VERY proud of their highly regarded beach.
Leaving Coronado and heading over the bridge and along the freeway you have some great views of the city.
I also couldn't help but notice that the San Diego airport is the closest airport to the actual city I've ever seen. You see planes uncomfortably close in the sky all day, and landing was really weird as we flew just past condos.
We then took a quick ride through the center of Balboa park.
Finally we made our way to Old Town which despite being tourist-driven was a really interesting place. Great museums, shops, and margaritas. Well worth the time spent.
I didn't take many pictures, but I knew I was in trouble when I saw this store...
There was also an old school candy shop with some classics.
Most inappropriate thing of the day??? Exactly who would you feel comfortable giving apron this to?
